If an 81 yr old NM woman can beat the odds by putting her anger to work, do you think you could do it too? She has diabetes type II. She has high blood pressure and high cholesterol. She had gained a lot of weight. Her medications all had side effects, including gaining weight. Her energy level was low. She tried to lose weight but her recliner called her name all too often.
She had a younger friend who had grown very large. She had knee problems. She used a cane and sometimes could barely walk. She was aging quickly although she was only in her 50’s. Finally she went to see an acupuncturist, Dr Daniel Cobb, D.O.M. Santa Fe might never be the same. Over time she began to use a foodlist that Dr Cobb,D.O.M. Created. She lost weight. The cane retired early. The older friend got mad.
One day, the older woman said, “I can’t stand it anymore!” She made an appointment with Dr Cobb. Soon after she had her foodlist. No miracles at first. Later, after a second foodlist and other notable lifestyle changes, she began to turn her life around. She had quit seeing Dr Cobb. She started a new exercise program at a nearby gym. A neighbor got up around Am to coach her. She stuck to her diet. Her health improved. She also lost weight.
Her doctor was so amazed with her progress that she has reduced medications. Exercise, and good nutrition may mean no medications soon. The doctor said, “Tell everyone!”
81 years old, good posture, less pain, better mobility and balance, and lots more energy. Over 20 pounds weight loss, Seems like a new life. True story.
Since she has started her new lifestyle plan, other disabled seniors have joined her. The neighbor graciously encourages the group. Improvements are noticeable. Hopefully the program that assists low income disabled citizens use the gyms at Santa Fe Community Centers won’t be slashed.
It takes a group of dedicated people to help these amazing changes happen. Imagine if one woman can reduce the impact that diabetes has on her life, how many more people could make similar changes. If you are younger, these changes are attainable in your life too. May you be as bold and strong in your ventures. (Please consult your physican or practioner before starting your program).
