Sunday was no ordinary Sunday. It’s usually the day I retire to my bed a bit early to prepare my body and mind for what is surely to be an eventful work week. With that being said, my Sunday sleep was interrupted by the first award show to kick off awards season, the 67th Annual Golden Globes. The awards ceremony was hosted by the super funny Ricky Gervais, who in many ways, stole the show! The evening will definitley be remembered for Ricky’s witty and hilarious commentary, the fashions of the red carpet and James Cameron.
In terms of style on the red carpet this year, I’d like to say the fashion was under-par. Rather than talk about the losers that evening, I will talk about my 4 winners; Emily Blunt, Marion Cotillard Chloë Sevigny and Diane Kruger.
Chloë wore a silver lilac Valentino ruffle gown coupled with some Roger Vivier clutch and vintage Stephen Russell jewels. Sevigny was not only a winner on the red carpet, but she also took home her very first Golden Globe for HBO’s Big Love as Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series.
Emily Blunt, 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards
The Young Victoria, Emily Blunt wore a stunning blush pink strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown and posed on the red carpet with fiance John Krasinski.
The gorgeous Diane Kruger sported a Christian Lacroix pink tulle gown with her equally gorgeous boyfriend, Joshua Jackson.

Qui est-ce la beauté? None other than Perisian actress Marion Cotillard. She walked the red carpet in a Christian Dior gown with a tasteful lace peek-a-boo. Marion has won an Oscar for her role as Édith Piaf in 2007’s La Vie En Rose.

It is no surprise director James Cameron took home awards for Best Drama for the epic film Avatar and Best Director. It goes without saying that the faces in the room did not seem happy for him and perhaps, they did not agree. While he may produce a film in intervals of a decade, Cameron undoubtedly never fails.
Bring on the 82nd Academy Awards on March 7th, 2010 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
