Well, I was until I read the article regarding the outpouring of Iowa residents supporting the privilege and freedom of owning their own firearms.
It is a well-documented fact that the beginning of the holocaust started after the government ruled no one should be allowed to own a gun. How easy was that then to confiscate those who didn’t share the government idea of self-protection, religious preferences and political views? Just how many re-runs do we need to create a memory path of the devastation history relates regarding self preservation, independence and freedom? How many lives have to be sacrificed for the privilege of having our own firearms?http://www.freewebs.com/audreyheagneybooks – Something Old ‘n’ Nothing New
I recall a survey done in a little mountain town in California as to family owned firearms. The results were; a gun in every household. The argument of ‘guns kill’ is as empty as a gun barrel if no one fills it with a bullet or someone doesn’t pull the trigger. Another thought on the subject of self-protection is why do we have locks on doors? I recall about sixty years ago we never knew where or if there was a key for the door! Even parked cars were not locked.
Therefore it is safe to say activity today requires our sixth sense, that of protection, to be adhered to and obeyed. There is no insurance from local or national law enforcement agencies that will stand guard over your every move. They will investigate after the damage has been done. Recently, the news relates a story of two invaders attempting to enter a home of ten girls with the intent to rape and kill. Fortunately, a friend with a gun got the situation under control and one invader was killed. I recall a similar situation sometime ago of theman with the tatoo ‘born to raise hell’ invader killed all but one of several nurses in a dorm commune. Such isolated events are horrible but this behavior pattern is seen on a daily basis and without personal protection people become fodder for the wicked and evil.
There is no need to succumb to any law prohibiting private owned guns. We are all entitled to the right to protect ourselves. What earthly benefit does the government derive out of being the sole proprietor of our weapons?
The Lord Himself advocated capital punishment. Of course, not all states have enforced that. It is quite evident that some adjustments do need to be made regarding sentencing in our judicial system. Perhaps a more stringent approach to the punishment of crime activity would bring about fewer violations and even lessen the prison population. Instead of building more prisons, we could direct our efforts on schools and teacher credentials.
Are you scared? As private citizens of a free country we need to transplant our fears into a positive activity for our personal protection. Be aware of who you vote for and what they advocate.
