Just in case you’re looking to add one of the many adorable rescue dogs to your family, I’ve highlighted just a few here this week! Of course, all of these rescue groups have plenty of furry friends up for adoption, so head over to their pages and check them out!
Hannah, Weimaraner – Atlanta Loves Weims Rescue
Hannah is a sweet, approximately 3-4 years old, recently retired “puppy mill mom”. She is a shy and timid, but once she warms up and learns to trust you, she’s an absolute doll, wanting to be near you and please you! She gets along great with other dogs and enjoys the freedom of the dog park. Hannah, like many weims, suffers from separation anxiety, resulting in destructive behaviour when left alone. Therefore, Hannah must be placed in a home with at least one other dog who will engage her in activity and provide companionship when her humans are away. Hannah needs a family who is willing to work with her to come out of her shell and work through her insecurities, giving her the love she deserves. Hannah is heartworm positive and will need to undergo treatment when available
Clementine – Atlanta Beagle Rescue
Clementine is the current super model of the foster pack. She is a GORGEOUS 15″ beagle who very obviously had a good home at one point. She is housebroken and loves to sit on the couch. She gets along great with the other dogs in the house and the cats as well. She is very calm and sweet. Clementine has been spayed but her heartworm test came back positive.
McDuff – Bassett Hound Rescue of Georgia
McDuff is a red & white fellow who is around 4 years old. He came to BHRG from the shelter in Floyd County where he was found as a stray. McDuff is recovering from neuter surgery. He has tested positive for heartworms and now has completed treatment. McDuff is currently settling in at his foster home. We will post more details soon.
Dolly – Atlanta Boxer Rescue
Hi! My name is Dolly because everyone says I am SUCH a doll! I am only 1 year young, but have already been through a lot. I am looking for a family who will love me and give me lots of attention. I am happiest when I am curled up in someone’s lap getting love (which I can do, because I am what you might call a Pocket Boxer!) My foster mom says I’m the smallest boxer that she has ever seen! I am not real keen on my foster fur brothers right now, but I may just need some adjustment time. For the time being, my foster mom says I would probably be best as an only dog. I am great with kids and I love greeting all ages as they come off the school bus. I am house-broken and working on my crate training. Best of all, I give the best boxer kisses and have lots of wiggles for you! I would love to have a home for the holidays! Please mention me, Dolly, on your application.
Bailey – IMPS – Min Pin Rescue
6 yr old (born 9/27/2003) blue & tan male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 11″, 9 lb. Shots up-to-date. Owner give-up.
“My name is Bailey and I am looking for a new home where I can relax and be spoiled! I am the kind of dog that loves to snuggle, in fact my favorite place to be is burrowed under a blanket or in a lap. I am very friendly and love meeting new people; sometimes I bark to say hello but overall would be considered a quiet dog. I am full of personality. My best friends are dogs and I enjoy playing with them outside. I also enjoy cats. I would be happiest in a family without young children. I am great in my crate, good on a leash and litter box trained. My birthday is just around the corner and the best present would be going home with my new family!!”
