The time has arrived once more! Casting calls for Adam Wayne Productions’ annual “Stomping for a Cure” fashion show have begun. It is that time of the year when talented people from all over Hampton Roads have an opportunity to participate in an edgy fashion show in which all proceeds are donated to ACCESS AIDS Care, an organization geared towards helping children and teenagers living with AIDS. This is a cause that is very near and dear to the heart of Adam Wayne Productions creator, Adam Wayne Finley. Finley has become a philanthropist of sorts through the creation of this annual fashion show, putting his own blood, sweat, and tears into producing an event that is sure to turn heads.
“Stomping for a Cure” has a different theme every year, with past themes that included “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Gods and Goddesses.” The show features models of all shapes and sizes and from every walk of life, show-stopping dancers, an eclectic hair and make-up team, and a variety of stage hands. Every year the show gets bigger and better, and with success comes the need for more help. On January 30th and 31st, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Finley will be holding auditions for models and dancers, hair and make-up technicians, and stage hands for this year’s fashion show. The auditions will be held at Klub Ambush, located at 475 South Lynnhaven Road in Virginia Beach, VA. This is also the venue for the fashion show itself. Finley is asking that everyone interested in being a part of this charitable and fun event show up for the auditions ready to show him what they’ve got!
Model and dancer positions are limited, but if you are not chosen there are still multiple opportunities for you to help out. Stage techs and backstage crew are needed, and they carry many responsibilities including but not limited to dressing models, selling raffle tickets, assisting the hair and make-up team, controlling lighting, and constructing the stage and props. All of these positions need to be filled, so come to the audition with an open mind and an open heart. After all, it is for a great cause.
Last year, “Stomping for a Cure” raised a total of $4,158, and this year Finley set the goal amount at $4,500. This is absolutely an achievable goal. Every year the fashion show draws in a larger crowd than the year before, and this year will be no exception. Because every member of the fashion show, Finley included, volunteers their time, Adam Wayne Productions is able to donate ALL proceeds to ACCESS AIDS Care, making “Stomping for a Cure” the charity event of the year!
