CLASH Wrestling returns to the Taylortown Trade Center this Saturday with “CLASH vs. CHIKARA: Best Of 3 Challenge”. The two promotions will battle in three separate matches for brand supremacy. Bell time is set for 8 p.m. and tickets can be purchased by logging on to http://www.clashwrestling.com. Recently, I had a chance to catch up with CLASH superstar Tommy Treznik. I would like to thank Tommy for taking time out of his busy schedule to sit down and talk about this Saturday’s show.
1. Tommy, this Saturday, you team with partner J. Miller to take on CHIKARA’s Osirian Portal (Ophidian & Amasis) in a very anticipated bout. What are your thoughts as this match is less than a week away?
Excited to say the least. Myself and Miller had the opportunity to wrestle the Osirian Portal last June in CLASH Wrestling’s 2009 NPCI Tag Team Tournament and it was a great learning experience. Ophidian & Amasis are both well traveled & highly talented. We (The H3RD) love to test ourselves against the best tag teams out there, and the Osirian Portal definitely fit that description. A victory on the 20th is also very important, not only for ourselves but for our home promotion as well. We’re representing CLASH Wrestling in the final match of the CLASH vs. CHIKARA: Best of 3 Series that night. A victory over CHIKARA’s Osirian Portal is a victory for CLASH Wrestling, so yeah it’s an important match and we’re very excited to be a part of it.
2. There’s no doubt that CLASH fans are looking forward to your bout. Another match that has gained a lot of intrigue lately is Danny Danger going one on one with Frightmare. Danger is coming off an impressive victory at “Seize the Day III” back in January over Will Vendetta. What will Frightmare have to do to take down Danger?
I’d say use his speed advantage, but I’m not sure whether Frightmare has one over Danny Danger. Both guys are lightning fast in the ring. I’ve faced Danger many times in the past and he’s a very tough competitor. In Frightmare’s case, I’d suggest him staying away from the mat and using his lucha libre influenced ariel assault to outmaneuver Danny.
3. While this may be a bit of a sore subject for you Tommy, what do you expect new CLASH Champion Tyler Elkins to do this coming Saturday?
I’m still getting over my loss (to Tyler Elkins) at the Seize The Day III, so yeah it is a bit of a sore subject. As far as what I’m expecting the new champion to be doing on Saturday, I’m not quite sure. As of now he’s yet to be advertised in a match. One thing I do know for certain is that his partner in crime, “Ace High” Cameron Skyy was very upset backstage at Seize The Day III following the match. Cameron is definitely a glory hog and was not happy that Elkins won the match instead of himself. So I’d expect some sort of confrontation between those two for sure. Guess I’m going to find out just like everyone else on Saturday night.
4. Finally, CLASH has turned some heads locally so far in 2010. Last month, Truth Martini made his debut with CLASH. This Saturday, Jimmy Jacobs returns to the promotion. As a guy who bleeds CLASH Wrestling, what are your thoughts on the big names making their way to CLASH?
As far as bleeding CLASH Wrestling, you’re exactly right about that. I’m one of the guys who has been here since day number one, so I’ve seen a lot happen in the last few years. Truth Martini is now the 4th man to be in charge of CLASH Wrestling in the last 2 years. Will he last? Only time will tell. But it’s certainly a great time to be a part of CLASH Wrestling. Truth Martini is one of the most respected wrestlers in the Midwest. The same can be said for Jimmy Jacobs, who I had the pleasure of wrestling in September of last year. Having men in our locker room with this much experience & knowledge under their belts can only be a good thing. So I’m happy to have them on board.
The Taylortown Trade Center is located at 22525 Ecorse Rd. in Taylor, Mi. Don’t miss CLASH vs. CHIKARA, this Saturday night!
