After spending time visiting museums, the local aquarium or a casino in Tampa, Clearwater Beach in Florida offers a place to relax on three miles of white, sandy beaches, with picturesque sunsets.
Located on Florida’s western coast, about 30 minutes from Tampa and St. Petersburg, Clearwater Beach is said to hold the world’s record for the most days of sunshine—361—and an average year-round temperature of the mid 70s.
Clearwater Beach is a place where families, couples and groups can enjoy long walks on stretches on powdery sand or swims in clear, emerald-colored waters. There are also numerous luxury hotels, upscale restaurants, a long fishing pier and condominiums spread out along the waterfront.
So, depending on what you want to do, Clearwater has spots up and down its’ shoreline that range from the secluded and isolated, to its’ busy Pier 60 pavilion and park, where shops, fine-dining restaurants, vendors, street artisans, a playground and live entertainment can be found.
Clearwater is a vacation spot where beach enthusiasts enjoy spending full days jet skiing, parasailing, fishing on the pier, relaxing under palm trees, or at the end of the day, enjoying a stroll along the beach for the nightly sunset festival of live entertainment, food vendors and other activities. Some sunset lovers simply find a private spot to stretch out and drink in the incredible views that are second to none.
For those who are not fond of beaches, there are also places along Clearwater’s oceanfront to get a massage with the ocean in the background, or if you’re there on a Sunday, there’s a nondenominational Chapel By the Sea for worship services. And for those who can’t let go of those Internet sites, there are free Wi-Fi service zones on the beach.
Additionally, short drives away are things to do, such as a visit to Tampa Bay’s Busch Gardens, the Seminole Native American reservation, the Clearwater rescue and rehabilitation marine aquarium, the farmer’s market and many sporting events, such as the Philadelphia Phillies training camp in March through April.
