If you ever needed an excuse to go to one of downtown Cleveland’s many restaurants, Downtown Cleveland Restaurant Week is it.
On February 22-27, 50 restaurants are offering special menus of at least three courses for $15 or $30 each. Worried about paying for parking? No problem. You can download a parking voucher that will allow you to park for just $2 after 5pm at 38 participating parking lots and garages. You can download a PDF of all participating lots and then find your spot with this interactive downtown Cleveland parking map.
Looking at the complete list of participating Downtown Cleveland Restaurant Week restaurants, you may say to yourself, “But there’s so many to choose from and only six nights in Restaurant Week! Where should I go?” With so many restaurants and so little time, here are my recommendations for each night of the week:
Monday, February 22 – The Chocolate Bar. The newest resataurant on the list, The Chocolate Bar is offering a Restaurant Week special that is only $30 per couple. You share one of three appetizers, including Chocolate Bar Foccacia, and then and each person chooses his or her your own entree and dessert. And what’s The Chocolate Bar without dessert?
Tuesday, February 23 – Lola. What’s Restaurant Week without a visit to Iron Chef Michael Symon’s flagship restaurant, Lola? $30 gets you a choice between two appetizers, three entrees and two desserts. And the hanger steak entree includes Lola’s famous fries. Mmmm…
Wednesday, February 24 – Blue Point Grille. If you like seafood, Blue Point Grille is the place to be. For $30, try an appetizer (scallops or salad), entree (crab topped filet, lobster bolognese or grouper – it’s a tough call!) and dessert (I’d go with the chocolate flourless torte). The atmosphere at Blue Point is great and it’s right in the heart of the Warehouse District.
Thursday, February 25 – One Walnut. You couldn’t typically get away with spending just $30 at One Walnut, especially for three courses, but during Restaurant Week, you can! If you’ve never been to One Walnut before, this is the time to go.
Friday, February 26 – Greenhouse Tavern. Whether you’re a meat eater or a vegetarian, you’ll find something you love at Greenhouse Tavern. And that includes their $30 Restaurant Week 3-course menu! They also have a great drink selection.
Saturday, February 27 – Crop. Crop always has an interesting menu and their $30 Restaurant Week menu does not disappoint. Mushroom bisque, duck confit and goat cheese turnovers, salmon, braIsed ribs, warm apple buckle… It’s all here.
