It’s not what’s in the name – it’s what we do with the name
This may come to you as a shock, but are you aware we do not belong to ourselves? We are not living in any place that is ours. No, all we are and all we have belong to Jesus.
How dare anyone mar our character? It is usually ourselves that do the discrediting. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. That is a given found in Scripture. What shall we do then to justify such behavior? Fortunately we have laws and procedures that are built into our society to rectify these inequities. The Lord has some of His own rules and standards for us to live by. Keep in mind, the Lord loves the sinner, but not the sin!
The recent news has related various actions and activities that have promoted judgment and ridicule. Golfing, Baseball and Football have all had their ‘stars’ erupt in a circus of disbelief. The movie industry produces the same immoral characters on a daily basis without shame. It seems ‘everyone is doing it’!
The latest boondoggle is the verbiage used by Senator Reid. There are those who forgive, those who criticize and those who don’t care. Old bones are dug up to compare error to error and sin to sin and punishment to punishment. How interesting it is that we the people are paying tremendous wages and amenities to the people who are consumed with the mistakes made because of poor judgments. You have heard the quote ‘while Rome burns’. That seems to be where we are today – our country is in a couple of wars, we have our young people standing in the gap for us protecting our freedoms and all the while we concern ourselves with who said what when! Is there not a priority scale somewhere?
If that isn’t enough to cause dissention and dissatisfaction on the home front, how about the money spent to send these same people on an excursion with universal weather control as their topic for discussion and research no less.
Actions are now beginning to be evaluated regarding the possibilities of re-election. Global Warming, The Ice Age, Invasion by Mars and the recent loss of bumble bees are all topics that will be discussed in an effort to regain political control. Should anyone in this elite group be concerned about our national safety, illegal aliens or drug trafficking to name a few? Presently Texas is coping with whether or not a four year old boy should be able to go to school with long hair. While this takes front stage on the political show case here in Oregon we hear very little about how well a four year old boy learns with long hair. Speaking of children when is our justice system going to arouse out of their doldrums and recognize their obligations to protect our children? One has to wonder what drug they take to be able to sleep at night. How do they maintain their position on the bench while passing out the sentences they do?
Much is to be said about not who we are but what we do. Who do we belong to and who are we answerable to? It would be nice if we could start over but since we can’t why not take stock of what our duties and obligations are. This country was made for us, it is not ours and should not be taken over by people who think it is. We need people like the leader of Australia standing firm on the why and how they became the country for the people. We too have always been that country and need leaders to assure the sanctity of it. We are not our own and not expected to rescind our rights for no one.
