New Year’s Eve celebrated in the most beautiful way ever…with family – Josh Fuller of “Dirt & Diesel” — and you’ll love his New Year’s Resolution.
What a great guy, Josh Fuller, staying in with the wife and kids on New Year’s Eve, rather than choosing to perform. Not that he hasn’t had many offers; he just chooses to be husband and (with a brand new baby) the best dad ever New Year’s Eve night. Congratulations to you, Josh — and also to Brian Nelson, who also welcomed a brand new baby to his life a short while ago!
Well, Josh Fuller has earned that relaxation, and I know his family was ecstatic that he was home with them – and especially with the newest Fuller family member just born!
I was thrilled when Josh Fuller answered my Facebook question to friends: “Ok, so which of my wonderful music friends stayed home to veg out with family, NOT performing anywhere by choice and watching the ball drop in your jammies?”
Josh proudly responded: “That’d be me! And it’s only 11:00 and my wife and yungins have left the party and I’m heading home. Kinda nice to just relax, but it feels kinda weird!”
“Dirt & Diesel” plays a mixture of Country, Blues, Honky Tonk, Southern Rock, and Americana. Their stage show includes a growing repertoire of original material, as well as covers of classic and contemporary music.

This dynamic group has perfected the art of performing and their musical talents seem unlimited! Each show keeps fans on their feet and wanting more! It all began when Josh Fuller and Regan Frazier teamed up as a singer/songwriter partnership ready to take on all that the great state of Texas has to throw at them. Now, that’s Texas “never say quit” spirit!
The duo had already been making music together for several years as members of “Josh Fuller and the Pride of Texas Band.” Josh started the group as a solo project, and selected Regan to be his lead guitarist and backing vocalist. With their band mates, they worked hard and the Texas music scene began to see this incredibly talented “Josh Fuller and the Pride of Texas Band” was a force to be reckoned with!
As often happens, changes came to the original band, and Josh and Regan finally became a duo. Mulling over suggestions for a name for the new duo, a friend mentioned “Fresh Dirt and Diesel” to describe the atmosphere the two were trying to convey with the music they were writing. Their songs reminded the listener of experiences growing up in Texas, just as Josh and Regan had done. So, finally shortening the name to “Dirt & Diesel”, the country music passion-driven pair began working toward a goal of becoming Texas’ premier country music duo.

Josh and Regan began writing songs together and enlisted a very talented foursome of musicians to round out the band- the amazing Lauren Chauvin on fiddle, the innate talent of Brian Nelson on bass guitar, Eric Ellingson’s propulsion on drums, and Corey Moss’ brilliant manipulation of keyboard – not to mention Josh’s incredible vocals and mastery of the rhythm guitar and Regan’s strong vocals and stamp of a maestro on the lead guitar! They started off 2009 with an electrifying show at The Cue and Cushion Pub in Houston garnering rave reviews! The rest is a momentum of performances that covers Texas and a name that resounds in the Texas music scene.
“Dirt & Diesel” has accomplished many original songs that show their perfect harmony in everything from vocals, lyrics and music – it’s if the plan was set long ago for them to get together!
Their original songs include, “Jack & Coke” – Honky Tonk, “Gringo Loco” – Shuffle, “Saturday Night in Texas” – Two Step, “Another Round” – Ballad, “14 Pews” – Ballad, “Texas Thunder” – Southern Rock,“Old Whiskey” – Ballad, “The Song” – Ballad, “For All My Life” – Ballad, “Dance on the Roadside – Waltz,”Baby’s Goin’ Out” – Southern Rock, “Road Trip” – Shuffle, “Missing You” – Two Step, “5 o’Clock” – Two Step and “Caballo” – Waltz. All you need is to visit their website, listen to their songs and you’re a fan whether you meant to or not! I was hooked! Their cover songs are just as great, so no matter what they choose to sing, it’s the best there is!
Some of their venues include spots where fans immediately follow and the numbers keep growing for this amazing band “Dirt & Diesel”: Tumbleweed Texas (Houston), Big Texas Saloon (spring),TUTS’ Bar and Grill (Conroe), Henry’s Hideout (Plantersville), Shanahan’s Bar (Montgomery), Borski’s Tavern (Willis), Firehouse Saloon (Houston), T’s Bar (The Woodlands), Town Hall Texas (Conroe), Sports Station (Tomball), Main Street Crossing (Tomball), Darwin’s Place (Tomball), The Cue and Cushion Pub (Houston) and the list keeps growing along with the multitude of fans!
