The Elimination Chamber PPV has officially started, live from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Opening the event will be the Raw Chamber match for the WWE Championship.
Superstars entering the chambers first, in order of entry, are John Cena, Ted DiBiase, Randy Orton, and Triple H. Kofi Kingston started the match against the WWE Champion, Sheamus. 48 championships between the superstars involved, 27 of them being World Championships or WWE Titles. Kingston started off with quick attacks on the champion, before he was soon mowed down by a Sheamus clothesline.
The first superstar to enter from the pods would be Triple H. He and Sheamus traded punches, but Hunter gained the quick advantage. It was announced early on that the only way an elimination could take place was for it to happen inside the ring, not outside the ropes. Sheamus went for his running powerbomb, but Triple H slid out of it and scored a big DDT.
The second superstar released was Randy Orton. He immediately started putting all three men down and focused his attack on Sheamus and Triple H. The Viper slammed the heads of Sheamus and Triple H repeatedly into the side of the chamber, in an attempt to wear them down and incapacitate them. Once they were down, Orton returned to the ring to work on Kingston. Triple H got back up and went for a pedigree on Orton, but was backdropped over the top rope on to the steel floor outside the ring.
The third superstar to enter was Ted DiBiase, who went straight to work on Triple H. He then went to Randy Orton, who was down in the corner, and helped him up. They then went to work on Sheamus, working on his shoulder. Then they teamed up on Kofi Kingston, fanning flames of a feud that started months ago. Then they turned their attack on Triple H. At one point, Randy Orton hit his hanging DDT from the middle rope onto Triple H, driving his head into the steel floor. With everybody down, the Legacy members stalked the final unopened pod.
John Cena was the final entry, who flew out of the pod hitting everything that moved. After a top rope leg drop onto DiBiase, Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment (formerly the FU), sending DiBiase sailing over the top rope. Cena locked in the STF, but it was broken up by Orton before DiBiase could tap out.
Cody Rhodes came down to ringside with a lead pipe. Cena picked up Orton for the Attitude Adjustment, but DiBiase grabbed the pipe and bashed Orton in the head with it. He then hit Cena with the pipe.
DiBiase covered Orton for the unbelievable elimination. Before he could blink though, Kofi Kingston shocked DiBiase by rolling him up for the pin. Sheamus quickly got ahold of Kofi and hit his running powerbomb. He pinned Kofi, sending him to the locker room.
Sheamus and Cena would go back and forth. As Sheamus went for the powerbomb on Cena, Triple H got back into the mix and hit a low blow on the champus. He pedigreed Sheamus, and pinned him, guaranteeing a new WWE Champion.
Cena made the first move, jumping on top of Triple H and locking him in the STF. Triple H tried to fight out fo it, but ultimately was forced to tap out. John Cena was declared the winner, earning his eight WWE Championship.
Before Cena had the opportunity to celebrate, Vince McMahon came out and congratulated Cena on locking his spot at WrestleMania. He said he would main event WrestleMania…if he could defend his newly-won championship…against BATISTA!
Cena battled his way back to his feet, but was quickly speared and hit with the Batista Bomb. Cena’s eighth title reign lasted less than three minutes, as Batista was declared the NEW WWE CHAMPION!
