It’s very exciting that so quickly a new Fashion Week is upon us. Currently designers are running around New York casting their models, having fittings, putting on final touches and working with their stylists to style the collection. All getting ready for that breath-taking moment. The moment where the crowd hushes, the lights turn up, the bass of the music sounds and POW, that first skinny leg hits the runway. It’s energy you can cut with a knife and it is the best feeling ever! It’s Fall 2010 fashion and even though we haven’t been able to even dabble in our new spring 2010 attire we get to flash forward into the fashions and stylings of the exciting Fall ahead.
Thanks to the internet, the popularity of bloggers, and most importantly twitter we all get to enjoy each show as they take place from the eyes of people in the audiences! Web stars like Sydne Summer from ThinkThruFashion.com and Valerie Elizabeth, the Society Stylist were all over Spring 2010 fashion week scenes with tweets and pictures as each exciting look sparked their desire to share with us all! And for us not at the shows, it’s all very riveting! There is currently a site that launched this past Fashion week called “Inside the Tents”. Bloggers have to apply to be apart of the site but it has a running feed of all the fashionistas tweeting about New York Fashion Week, in the seats of New York Fashion Week.
Good thing (and well, frankly, scary thing…) tweets travel fast and each time we are craving more, more, and more! So yes it is okay to succumb to the fast fashion information revolution but remember to stay true to our roots. Pick up your favorite fashion magazine, see what the experts and editors say too. And as mentioned above, follow Sydne Summer and Valerie Elizabeth on their adventures in New York Fashion Week. Both are experts in the fashion business, have fantastic style and have that innate sense of what is coming around that fashion bend.
