National Pancake Week: Chocolate is for breakfast
There seems to be some question as to when Pancake Week is or National Pancake Day, for that matter.
Every site has a different day or week dedicated to the pancake, so there is only one real solution: eat pancakes on any day of the week that you wish.
Of course, having them with chocolate is an even better way to celebrate: try chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate banana pancakes or pancakes with chocolate syrup.
Celebrate pancakes for no reason at all.
National Pancake Day seems to be connected with two things: Free pancake day and Shrove Tuesday
On the day before Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent, eating pancakes is customary on a day also known as Pancake Tuesday.
iHop restaurants make it their business to offer free pancakes every year since their first National Pancake Day celebration in 2006. This year, you can get a free short stack of pancakes across the nation on February 23, 2010.
National Pancake Week: Does anyone know when it really is?
Several websites list National Pancake Week as February 14 – 20. AllRecipes.com, Answer.com, BrownieLocks.com, SheKnows.com all note that the week to celebrate pancakes starts on the 14th of February.
Missed pancake week last week? That’s fine. There are several sites that list National Pancake week as February 23 – 28, including BlissTree.com, ThinkQuest.org and the Log Cabin Syrup company.
Whenever you celebrate, pancakes are always great. Add chocolate to make breakfast extra sweet.
Some great chocolate pancake recipes to try:
Chocolate Chip Pecan Pancakes: A great breakfast or brunch entree. The chocolate chips get crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside.
Stardust Chocolate Pancakes: Easy to make chocolate pancakes dusted with powdered sugar and topped with sliced strawberries.
