Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief is a star studded event with the top names in entertainment performing and answering the phones to benefit the earthquake victims in Haiti. The two hour special, held on Friday, January 22, 2010, l was an unprecedented event, broadcast across multiple television stations, streamed live on the internet and via wireless networks.
Hope for Haiti Now was hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, Wyclef Chris in New York and Anderson Cooper of CNN from Haiti. The stars came out in support of the benefit for the earthquake devasted countyr with performances by: Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, Sting, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Haitian artist Emeline Michel, Coldplay, Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Beyonce.
Performances were alternated with reporting from Haiti by Anderson Cooper of CNN, who traveled to Haiti almost immediately when the news of the earthquake broke on January 12, 2010, Anderson Cooper has been reporting from the devastated country since.
In addition to watching the phenomenal performances, viewers could call in and possibly be connected to Director Steven Spielberg, Julia Roberts, Drew Barrymore, Chevy Chase, Tim Allen and other big names. Celebrities participating in the telethon included: President Bill Clinton, Ben Stiller, Brad Pitt, Chris Rock, Clint Eastwood, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jon Stewart, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, Robert Pattinson, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hanks, Will Smith with Muham mad Ali, and more than one hundred of the biggest names in film, television, and music.
As the two hour special draws to a close, viewers can still participate by calling in donations or donating on line.

Beginning on Friday, iTunes customers will be able to exclusively pre-order both the “Hope for Haiti Now” full performance album ($7.99) and the full two-hour video telecast ($1.99). Pre-orders will be delivered in the days following the telethon. Individual audio performances will also be available for purchase and download for $.99 cents each in the days following the telethon.
