With so many changes happening so quickly, it’s no surprise that some people are hesitant to expand their businesses into the online marketplace. It can be very intimidating. It is understandable that businesses often prefer to avoid the harsh penalties of failure.
Nevertheless, here are several good reasons why every business in Shreveport/Bossier and the Ark-La-Tex can and should establish a Web presence on the Internet. Distinction and innovation are important reasons for doing it now.
#3 – Exposure Efficiency
This is where the Web truly shines, as demonstrated by the success of online auction pioneer eBay or book selling giant Amazon. Advertising takes time and money, so you want to put your advertisements where the greatest number can see them for the smallest cost. So rather than have many scattered retail stores, eBay and Amazon developed centralized systems that anyone can go to, from nearly anywhere in the world. Imagine that exposure.
These benefits extend beyond the online ordering mindset, as well. Having a well-designed, effective website for your store can reach more people and get them interested. Rather than gamble on an unknown restaurant, consumers can go to its site and see a copy of the menu, the prices, and even place a reservation in the online form. As a result, the restaurant fills up tables, and its competition misses out.
With a business that has special services or products, a website allows that business to showcase its service or products. Potential customers have the opportunity to leisurely browse the explanatory material and make decisions. Then, the site may allow the customer to make purchases or go to the retail store prepared to make the purchase. It is an ideal form of “pull marketing,” as opposed to the older model of “push marketing.”
Clearly a properly designed and managed website will boost any business. In the Shreveport/Bossier and Ark-La-Tex areas many businesses do not yet have a web presence. Before many years all the successful businesses will. The exposure of a website is one of the essential elements for any business to distinguish itself from its competition.
In today’s environment it is essential for every business to distinguish itself in its marketplace. Failure to do so is serious marketing mistake, and the owner risks oblivion at the hands of those businesses who do establish distinction in their businesses.
