Two large gaming events are happening in/near Chicago this weekend.
Games Plus is hosting an ENWorld Gameday this Saturday (2/27) from 9.30 till late night. There are two sessions with multiple events planned per session. Most of the games are now full, but you can head on over to the signup thread and take a look – it never hurts to ask to see if there’s a waiting list or the game referee is willing to open up another slot or two. If you can’t make this one, the next Gameday is already scheduled for June 12th.
A small con called “Fire and Ice” is happening Friday through Sunday in Lake Geneva. Judging by the gamelist, there seems to be a little something for everyone! There will also be some local southern Wisconsin vendors and a daily silent auction.
Reminder – Games Plus is now accepting items for their spring auction. This is a great event and if you’re looking for many different types of items, you can’t beat this auction. See the auction website page for details or contact the store.
Gamer’s Asylum in Evanston has been adding some new games to their calendar – it looks like now D&D 4e and Pathfinder are being played on a regular basis there. Gamer’s Asylum is a great little store; if you’re in the Evanston area, go check it out! With a regular monthly D&D Meetup group meeting at Prairie Moon, there is a lot of gaming happening in that neighborhood.
Unique Gifts & Games in Grayslake has three interesting RPG events happening this week – Car Wars tonight from 7 to 9, a D&D one-shot Baldur’s Gate adventure on Friday as well as a Fudge RPG demo on Friday.
For those of you who enjoy the Hackmaster RPG from Chicago’s Kenzer & Co, you’ll be happy to hear that David Kenzer and Jolly Blackburn have been discussing the upcoming Bestiary for the Advanced Hackmaster game in response to a plea for a “sneak peek”:
Sure. Maybe even a peek or two at some of the creatures and the layout. We’re in hump mode at the moment on the final assault though. So it may be a week or two before get around to posting something. – Jolly
yeah, well, the book will get here sooner than you expect! No release date yet, I’m just saying. And it will exceed the hype. last time I felt this way about a product…was the first print run of Aces and Eights. If I were running a company, I’d make sure the product came out by origins. – David
Origins is in late June this year, so stay tuned to see if AHM makes it to the convention.
