Tallahassee’s third annual Fitness Festival will take place at the end of this month, giving residents, trainers, and fitness retailers a chance to come together, just in time to keep those new year’s resolutions in check. Here are the details:
When? Saturday, January 30th from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where? The Tallahassee Leon County Civic Center, in the downstairs exhibit hall
Will it cost me? Catch fitness fever and try power walking to the Civic Center, or parking will cost you $7. The admission cost however is only $5 per person, and children under 12 are free.
What’s in it for me? Included in your five bucks is unlimited access to the day’s workout classes, presentations, and the chance to meet with professionals one-on-one. Plus, check out free samples throughout the afternoon, or get a complimentary health screening.
What else? All day long attendees will be immersed in training and weight loss knowledge, provided by both local and widely-known experts. Don’t miss your chance at door prizes and yes, food, promised in both vendors’ samples, and in healthy cooking demos. And don’t worry: if you stumble upon something delicious, or just downright inspiring, many products will be available for purchase on the spot.
With a children’s station to keep the little ones occupied too, this year’s fitness festival should be just right for the whole family. But be sure to arrive early for the best chances at the door prizes and the most selection of guided exercise classes. The event’s website recommends typical workout attire for newcomers and fitness buffs alike, as Saturday’s festivities are sure to get even the pros’ blood pumping.
Did you know…
that Tallahassee has got your resident Zumba® experts right here? The team from ZumbaJunkie.com teaches at various locations across Tallahassee, and will be one of the Tally Fitness Festival’s exhibitors. Zumba® is a sweat-inducing aerobic-dance mix, inspired by the grooves and style of Latin dance.
Another Fitness Festival exhibitor expected in 2010 is CrossFit Tallahassee. For a truly athletic approach to personal fitness, CrossFit’s intense but shortened classes promise to target your body more efficiently, and from more angles than other programs.
