*Potential spoilers ahead*
It’s time to stop being surprised by anything that happens on or off camera on “The Bachelor.”
Longtime “Bachelor” blogger and ABC nemesis RealitySteve says that tomorrow he is going to drop another bombshell about the show — this time on the alleged affair that happened behind the scenes during “The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love.”
He has already posted on his blog that contestant Rozlyn Papa, 28, a model/make-up artist from Richmond, Va., is the one who will be dumped next week — but not, he claims, for the reasons viewers are being led to believe.
By now the rumor mill — and ABC video teases — have led “Bachelor” viewers to believe that one of the “ladies” vying for pilot Jake Pavelka’s heart had an affair with someone in the house during the shoot.
Host Chris Harrison confirmed details of the “unfortunate” situation to Sean Valentine of KBIG radio in Los Angeles:
“Horrible decisions were made,” Harrison said. “This is something that we took very serious, and it’s something that we couldn’t just sit by…because of things in the past. This was embarrassing for us, for Jake, and for the other women, so we were like, let’s nip this in the bud, take care of it, and that’s what we did. … I’m in the control room, and before I had to go talk to the girl, Jake and then the women, I had lawyers, psychologists, producers, executives telling me, ‘These are the words you can say.’ It was intense. It was a wild night, and I knew nothing until I got there.”
Viewers are supposed to see the fallout of this situation during the show next Monday night on ABC.
But according to Reality Steve — who had the scoop on Jason Mesnick dumping Melissa Rycroft for Molly Malaney long before it aired on the 13th season of “The Bachelor” — ABC is distorting the truth.
“If any of you actually believe that one of the female contestants had a sexual affair with a producer on the show while filming was taking place and was therefore kicked off, you’ve got another thing coming,” Reality Steve wrote on Jan. 5.
“It’s called a storyline. It never happened, and the s–t’s about to hit the fan. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Tomorrow on RealitySteve.com I will reveal to everyone exactly what the real story is behind everything that goes down in next weeks episode.”
Steve claims his sources are giving him more spoilers and “TONS of dirt” on the season, including the “scandal,” the final four, who leaves the show voluntarily, who gets booted and who gets roses on dates.
He has already spilled info about the “alleged affair.”
“I will tell you now, Rozlyn is the girl that is kicked off the show next week for what Chris Harrison will deem as ‘inappropriate behavior in the context of the show.'”
“Which is a perfect description since he technically never mentions a sexual affair,” Steve continued. “Why? Because there never was one. They just use one of the other contestants to voice over the now infamous, ‘She’s having a sexual affair with someone in the house’. Way to cover your a–es.
“… Like I said, come back tomorrow for the full story of why Rozlyn was really booted from the show and the producer who was also fired. Was there ‘inappropriate behavior within the context of the show’? Yes, there was. But it had nothing to do with sex, or hooking up, or any physical contact whatsoever.”
Steve wrote that he feels bad for Rozlyn since what really happened has happened in the past to a former contestant. “Almost the same situation exactly.”
Jake Pavelka, 31, of Denton, Texas, was eliminated during Jillian Harris’ season of “The Bachelorette” and returned to search for love during the 14th season of “The Bachelor.”
Pavelka was the one who told Harris during her season that fellow contestant Wes Hayden had a girlfriend while in the house. Hayden denied it and RealitySteve was active in defending Hayden.
Chris Harrison returned to his weekly EW.com “Bachelor” blog on Tuesday, and once again addressed the controversy:
“No doubt you saw or heard about the controversy next week surrounding one of the bachelorettes. I’m sure you will read and hear more about this situation this week and I promise I will talk in much more detail about it in next week’s blog. For now I will leave you with this. It was very unfortunate that two adults decided to selfishly make the decisions they made. They forced me and the show into a very tough spot. It had to be dealt with and next week you’ll see exactly what I mean.”
