The GOP returns
A major message reverberating across the nation has been felt. People of different faiths, seated on both sides of the political arena young and old have taken notice of their position in today’s society.
In our local city, neighborhood and social gatherings a sigh of relief could be heard after the recent announcement of the GOP victory for the Senate seat in the state of Massachusetts. Of course many view points, predictions and conclusions can be heard over the air waves and next door as to what the future holds on the political scene. The big question that looms above all is why a complete cross section of these United States is in such a state of doubt, mistrust and even anger. Could it be the transparency promised in the campaign a year ago has revealed too much? Are the greed, injustice and power hungry appetites attempting to devour our financial infrastructure along with honesty and integrity? This isn’t the first administration that has lost its popularity. I do believe this political leadership ranks among the top for being unpopular. We have experienced poor performances in the White House along with horrendous immoral activity, but the consequence of the direction this management has led is devastating. Considering the short duration of office the harm done to our society is also among a first place position.
We have heard multiple times that the problem with today is the result of the past administration. Pointing fingers is not only poor judgment, unprofessional but also immaturity. It is not a translucent fact that the result of one term of office in the White House has a bearing on another. The leadership elected to the position must assume the challenge set before him and take the responsibility thereof. Although no leader has ever walked on water his greatest achievement should be devoting his program toward the interest of the people. To perform this task with honesty, integrity, respect for the office he holds and being able to recognize a higher power has success written all over it. Such a president could build his library with the insignia of “In God We Trust” and his legacy would reveal just that.
Peoples who can trust God and acknowledge Him in all they do can also trust His Word. It is through His Word a transparent knowledge can be acquired and acted upon. This action promotes trusting God for His Love. God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son is recorded in His Word and we know it as true. Thanking God for all He has done brings blessings to us and to our land for we can trust God to forgive us our trespasses, not point fingers, not blame or condemn. Can God then trust us to recognize Him? Can we believe God and believe in God?
Having faith in God promotes having faith in ourselves. It was God who gave the knowledge of leadership and the ability to control power. God can be trusted for rendering hope and giving a purpose to set an example for all humanity. It is the comfort and companionship of God a politician needs to adequately perform the duties of his office. His power comes from above as do all our gifts and talents which are to be used to give Him the glory.
