The so-called “sex scandal” that got Richmond, Virginia native Rozlyn Papa booted off of “The Bachelor” this season will be revisited in Monday’s reunion broadcast, “The Women Tell All.”
Accused of hooking up with one of the show’s producers, Rozlyn was kicked off of the Jan. 11 episode for what host Chris Harrison called “inappropriate behavior.” The 28-year-old model has consistently denied she did anything wrong, and is accusing producers of “manipulation.”
On Monday’s episode, she’ll come face to face with bachelor Jake Pavelka and the other women in the house for the first time since the “scandal” broke. (View clip below.)
Here’s what you need to know before it airs:
While ABC has packaged Rozlyn’s exit as the result of an extra-curricular fling, insiders in the “Bachelor” blogosphere swear the whole “sex scandal” is a storyline enhanced by producers to cover up the real reason for her departure.
According to spoiler blogger Reality Steve, whose predictions and insider information throughout the seasons have proven consistently accurate, Rozlyn was told from the beginning that she would be able to keep in contact with her 7-year-old son back in Richmond. But once cameras started rolling, the show reportedly went back on its word, causing the single mom to flip out.
Also, the show reportedly ordered Rozlyn not to tell Jake about her son, but some cast members found out about the boy from producers during one-on-one interviews, according to Reality Steve. This added to Rozlyn’s frustration and eventually led her to have a massive meltdown in the kitchen, where she accused the show of lying to her and keeping her son away, reports Steve. He said producers realized they had a loose cannon on their hands and started strategizing ways to dump her.
Meanwhile, it’s true that one of the producers in the house, Ryan Callahan, had developed a crush on Rozlyn, which her cast members noticed and began to complain about, suspecting favoritism. After Ryan admitted to higher ups that he had feelings for Rozlyn, producers conveniently labeled this “inappropriate behavior” and used it as grounds to get Rozlyn off the show, Reality Steve insists.
“What they mean by inappropriate relationship is not what inappropriate relationship means in the real world,” Rozlyn told Radar Online back in January after her exit. “I did have a relationship with someone on [‘The Bachelor’] that didn’t benefit them. We remained close but we are not dating.”
Rozlyn continues to vehemently deny having sex with Callahan, or even kissing him. And she will deny it again Monday night to a stage full of hostile ex-roommates. Callahan, for his part, also said he never kissed or had intercourse with Rozlyn.
Find out if any of this unconfirmed drama is brought up on Monday’s “The Bachelor: The Women Tell All,” beginning at 8 p.m. on ABC.
