By now, many are familiar with Tim Graney. He is a citizen of Katy, Texas, a staunch Conservative, and one of the most personable candidates you would ever want to meet. He’s been busy attending functions and events all over Aransas, Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Jackson, Matagorda, Victoria and Wharton Counties. He announced his bid for the 14th Congressional District last October.
Following is his latest press release to ring in the new year:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Statement by Republican Candidate Tim Graney on Christmas Day Terror Attack
Katy, TX – December 31, 2009 – The airline terror attack on Christmas Day was a failure to the security of the United States and to the 300 innocent passengers aboard the aircraft. This failed attempt was unsuccessful not because government played its role, but because average citizens had the courage to act. Security failures of this magnitude are unacceptable. Our enemies across the globe, subscribing to a radical Islamic worldview, will continue to plan and attempt terror attacks on U.S. soil as long as they are alive and allowed to function. Our radical Islamic enemies are driven to attack us due to religious ideology, and it is their unflinching hatred of Western ways which fuels their actions. America did not ask for this failed terrorist attempt on Christmas Day and it is simply inaccurate to say that our actions caused this horrible act. In response to the attack, Congressman Ron Paul stated, “They’re terrorists because we’re occupiers.” If Paul knew the realities of our military then he would know that we are not occupiers of any land. The only land we have asked for is enough to bury the men and women who gave their lives fighting for our freedom. Ron Paul incorrectly believes America is reaping what it has sown around the globe, and in his eyes this attack is an example of what America deserves when it tries to extend peace, democracy, and inclusion throughout the world. In short, Paul’s ideas on foreign policy are a danger to the safety and security of America. He is not doing his duty as a Representative; instead pushing his own ideology and ineffectively representing the people of the 14th District of Texas. We know why we are under attack and we know that we need to bring the fight to our enemies, but Ron Paul lacks this understanding and the resolve to do what is right. We deserve better than Ron Paul.
