This Sunday, several Santa Cruz restaurants are offering food and drink specials during the Super Bowl — here is a round-up (see separate article on Hindquarter Super Bowl specials). Doesn’t matter whether you’re rooting for the Colts or the Saints, having affordable snacks during the game satisfies everyone!
Ideal Bar & Grill is showing the Super Bowl on 9 big screen TV’s and offering prize giveaways. Game day specials at Ideal include the following $4.95 appetizers: chicken wings, nachos, jalapeno poppers, potato skins, quesadillas, and pizza caprese. There will be draft beer specials too.

The Parish Publick House will have $3 draft beers and a halftime hot wings-eating contest. Plus, all Parish appetizers are half price all day Sunday including fried dill pickles (coated with homemade beer batter), vegetarian spring rolls, and fried mozzarella sticks (all usually $6.99 each), and French Fries/Garlic Fries (regularly $4.99/$5.99).

Bittersweet Bistro opens at 1pm on Sunday for the Super Bowl. Bittersweet food specials include sliders ($9), sweet potato fries ($7), and burritos ($6.75-$8) cooked on a panini press. The $6.75 burritos include combinations with egg, potato, cheese, and either ham, bacon, chicken apple sausage or vegetarian sausage. $5 drink specials include The Kick Off (Absolut Peppar Bloody Mary), the 2 Minute Warning (Absolut Mandarin & Ginger Ale), and the 4th and Inches (Absolut Vanilla & Coke).

El Palomar & Cilantro’s (sister restaurants, both Mexican) are offering several Super Bowl specials this Sunday. Both will serve $5 pulled pork or tri-tip sandwiches (includes fries or salad), $2 beers, $4 cocktails, and $5 margaritas. El Palomar and Cilantro’s feature HD TVs.

The Acapulco Mexican Restaurant features lunch specials, drink specials, and t-shirt giveaways on Sunday. Acapulco has a full bar, and offers many appetizers plus the Super Bowl on HD TV.
